1. Electric field around overhead transmission line conductors

The figure below shows the bundled conductor arrangement of a 3-phase 1MV (line-line) 50Hz transmission line system. Each phase comprises 2 sub-conductors. The sub-conductor diameter is a=26mm, the sub-conductor spacing (centre to centre) is c=0.3m, the phase spacing is d =7.6m. Use Ansys 2D to obtain the electric field intensity in the space surrounding the conductors for the worst scenario, i.e., when the highest electric field occurs. Note that the voltage varies sinusoidally and phase shifted by 120° between the 3 phases. Compare the result with that for the case of single conductor (not bundled).

2. Electric field on electrode and spacer interface in GIS

Sond insulation spacers are needed to keep the high-voltage conductor at the centre inside GIS (gas insulated systems). Consider a cone-type spacer between the HV and earth electrodes in a coaxial arrangement with diamaters of 80mm and 200mm, respectively. The relative permittivity of the epoxy spacer is 3.5. Use Ansys 3D to obtain the electric field intensity around the solid spacer. Plot the electric field distribution along the paths #1 and #2. Comment on the results.

3. Electrical type tests on high-voltage cables

It is required to conduct tano measurement on a 132kV XLPE cable. Via the library link, search for IEC Standards to get access to the "ISO:IEC:ASTM:API:ACI Standards Engineering Workbench". Then find the latest relevant IEC Standard to get information and provide a detailed description of the test procedure.
